!Her obituary from a Kansas newspaper read: "Susanna Houser was born a t Houserville, Pa., Oct. 12, 1836, and died May 9, 1918, after an illnes s of five days. At the age of 24 Susanna Houser was united in marriage t o Wesley Glenn. In 1876 Mr. and Mrs. Glenn located on a farm near Scotts ville, Kansas, where she has since made her home. Mr. Glenn met his deat h by accident only 13 months after coming into the new western country . Mrs. Glenn has long been a member of the Christian church and lived a n exemplary life. She was a devoted mother, a kind neighbor and a frien d to all whom she knew. She leaves to mourn their loss a daughter, Mrs . Herman Helmbrecht, a son, Elmer E. Glenn, and a large circle of friends . The funeral services over the remains of the deceased lady were held a t the Baptist church at Scottsville at 3:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon , the Rev. H. J. Kennedy conducting the services. Those from a distanc e attending the funeral were her brother, William Houser and family of Gr and Island, Nebr.; her son, E. E. Glenn and family of Alta, Nebr.; her br other-in-law, William Fishburn and daughter, of Alta, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs . Turner Foster and daughter of Downs, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Van Scoyk an d son of Beloit. CARD OF THANKS. - We wish to take this method of thanki ng the neighbors and friends for their kindness and sympathy to us durin g the time of the sickness and death of our dear mother. To all those wh o assisted us in any way by word or deed, we wish to express our gratitud e and appreciation. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Helmbrecht and family. Mr. an d Mrs. E. E. Glenn and family."
