She was born Nov. 20, 1931, in State College, a daughter of th e late Alton and Eleanor Houser Confer. She was a graduate of State Coll ege Area High School and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany sh ortly after she graduated. She worked as an office manager in an orthope dic physician's office, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed photography and do ing art work, especially oil painting. She is survived by a daughter, Co nnie Ramsey of Hollywood, Fla.; two sisters, Marcia White of Harrisburg a nd Virginia Haney of Newark, Calif.; a brother, Kenneth Confer of State C ollege; and one granddaughter. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. unt il the hour of service Friday at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 B enner Pike, State College. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at t he funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald C. Miller Jr. officiating. Buria l will be at Centre County Memorial Park, College Township. Memorial co ntributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice."
