!His obituary in the "Centre Democrat" of Thu. 9 Mar 1961 read: "Willia m F. Sproul, 75, Hublersburg, died in the Centre County Hospital Feb. 27 , 1961. His death came after an extended illness, and he was admitted t o the hospital shortly before he died. Mr. Sproul was born at Mingovill e July 8, 1885, a son of Samuel and Mary Shamp Sproul. His wife, the for mer Anna Fogleman, whom he married in 1914, survives. Children are Mrs . Verna Kerstetter, Aaronsburg; Samuel, at home; Mrs. Sara Zerby, Mill Ha ll; Harvey and William Jr., Snydertown; Mrs. Martha Bartley, Jacksonville ; Mrs. Ida Breon, Pleasant Gap; and Mrs. Caroline Muthler, Beech Creek . He leaves 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Sproul wa s a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and attended the Hec la Union Church. Funeral services were held at Wetzler Funeral Home, Bel lefonte, March 2, with the Rev. Leroy K. Sholes of Howard officiating. B urial was in the Zion Cemetery."

Muthler of Beech Creek R.D. died a t the Geisinger Medical Center yesterday at 4:30 p.m. He was born in Bee ch Creek Township, April 22, 1930, a son of George A. and Ettie Orner Mut hler. In 1957, he married the former Caroline A. Sproul of Mingoville, w ho survives with a daughter, Anna Marie, at home. Also surviving are a b rother, Dean N. Muthler of Lock Haven, R.D., and three step sisters: Mrs . Mary Peters of Beech Creek, Mrs. Lillian Condo of Avis, and Mrs. Oliv e Snyder, of Flemington. He was a member of the Laurel Run United Method ist Church and was a Sunday school secretary for many years. He was als o a member of the Beech Creek Grange for more than 20 years and held nume rous offices. He was the gatekeeper at the Clinton County Pomona Grang e and a member of the Penn State Grange. Services will be held at the De an K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, Mill Hall, Wednesday at 2 p.m., with Rev . Glenn P. Gearhart of Lock Haven officiating. Burial will be in the Sun nyside Cemetery, Bald Eagle Township, and friends will be received at th e funeral home tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m."
