! Copyright FamilyHart 2009 - .Her obituary in the "Centre Daily Times" r ead: "Marjorie Elda Houser, 68, of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 19 95, at her residence. She was born May 2, 1927, in Petersburg, a daughte r of William McKinley 'Mac' Eckley and Helen C. Allison Eckley. On Aug . 7, 1954, she married Daniel J. Houser, who survives in Huntingdon. Sh e was a 1947 graduate of the Stone Valley High School in McAlevys Fort, a nd attended the Huntingdon Secretarial School. She was a member of the H untingdon Presbyterian Church and the Huntingdon Chapter 159, Order of th e Eastern Star. Mrs. Houser spent her early years at Whipple's Dam Stat e Park, where her father served as forest ranger. In 1954 she moved to M cAlevys Fort and was employed by the Penn State chemical engineering depa rtment, the infirmary and the Department of Continuing Education. In 197 3 she moved to Huntingdon, where she was employed by Heine Engineering . Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Deborah H. Hetri ck of rural Huntingdon; a nephew, Richard B. Dreese; two granddaughters , Jennifer and Manda Hetrick, and one grandson, Jacob Hetrick. In additi on to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther L. Dre ese. Friends may call call after 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, 1995, at th e John B. Brown Funeral Home in Huntingdon. A private family service wil l be held at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, with the Revs. Willis F. Kea rns Jr. and Robert H. Cauffman officiating. Burial will be at the Gree n Lee Presbyterian Cemetery in McAlevys Fort. Memorial contributions ma y be made to Huntingdon County PRIDE, Inc., 307 Tenth St., Huntingdon, Pa . 16652 or Home Nursing Agency, 777 Bryan St., Huntingdon, Pa. 16652."
