!His obituary in the "Centre Daily Times" of Tue. 16 June 1998 read: "Pau l E. Hoover, 77, of Bellefonte died Sunday, June 14, 1998 at Centre Cres t nursing home. He was born April 12, 1921, in Bellefonte, a son of th e late Philip F. and Margaret Breon Hoover. He was a 1939 graduate of Be llefonte High School. An Army veteran, he served as a sergeant during Wor ld War II. He was a welder for the Pennsylvania Railroad, later Conrail , in the Juniata Shops for 38 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Protesta nt. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1600, American Legi on Post 33 and the Undine Volunteer Fire Company 2, all in Bellefonte. H e was a football fan. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Dolan of Bellef onte; two sisters, Ethel Krebs and Jane H. Lyter, both of Bellefonte; tw o brothers, Donald F. of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Gilbert R. of State Colleg e; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There will be no pub lic visitation. The funeral will be private, at the convenience of the f amily at Wetzler Funeral Home, Bellefonte, with the Rev. James F. Fox off iciating. Burial will be in Pleasant Gap Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Towns hip. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5 01 Howard Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601."
