• BRETHREN -- This list is dedicated to genealogy and welcomes anyone who wants to exchange information and search for Brethren Roots (i.e., ancestors and families that are or were members the Church Group founded in 1708 near Swarzenau Germany). The movment came to America mainly in two groups, one in 1719 and the other in 1729. This includes such church groups as Tunkers/Dunkers, Church Of The Brethren, and German Baptists.
